Church postcards that invite the whole neighborhood

Church postcards work best as a simple invitation to a day people already think about church, like Easter or Christmas Eve. Mail the homes within a short drive, two weeks before the service. Show the times, the address, and what to expect. From $0.44 a home with printing and postage included.

An invitation, not an ad

Most people who visit a church for the first time come because they were invited. A postcard is an invitation that reaches every door, including the families who just moved in.

Keep it warm and plain. Say who you are, when to come, and what happens when they walk in. People worry about the parking lot and the kids. Answer those questions on the card.

When to mail

  • Easter: land 7 to 14 days before. The biggest visitor Sunday of the year.
  • Christmas Eve: land in early December, before the calendar fills.
  • Vacation Bible School: land 3 to 4 weeks before sign-ups close.
  • Fall kickoff: land as school starts. Families set routines then.
  • New neighbors: a welcome card to the same routes a few times a year.

Plan for the full timeline. Proof in 1 business day. Print and drop within 3 business days after you approve. USPS delivers in 3 to 10 business days.

What to put on the card

  • Service days and times, large enough to read in the driveway.
  • The address and a small map.
  • What to expect: dress, length, music, and where to park.
  • What kids do during the service.
  • A QR code to a short welcome page or video.

Picking routes

  1. Open the route planner at your church address.
  2. Pick the routes within about a 10 minute drive. People rarely drive far to visit.
  3. Add new subdivisions. New families are looking for a church.
  4. Mail the same routes every season, so your name becomes familiar.

Nonprofit postage

Retail EDDM postage is $0.260 a piece for everyone. Churches with USPS Nonprofit Marketing Mail authorization may pay less, but it takes the authorization in place first and a drop at a Business Mail Entry Unit. Ask us and we will check if it saves you money on your size of mailing.

Sizes and sample cost

EDDM pieces must be flats. 6.25 x 9 is the best price per home. 8.5 x 11 leaves room for a photo, times, and a map.

MailingHomesPrice per homeSample total
Easter invite, 6.25 x 92,500$0.47$1,175
Easter and Christmas, same routes2,500 x 2$0.47$2,350
Large church, 6.25 x 95,000$0.44$2,200

Prices include printing, $0.260 postage, and the post office drop. The price per home drops at 1,000, 2,500, and 5,000 homes. Larger sizes cost more to print. Price your own mailing.

Notes for churches

  • Use photos of your own people, with their permission.
  • Show children only with a parent’s written permission.
  • Do not imply the card is sent or endorsed by USPS.
